Currently the Tanzanian aquaculture production contributes to only one percent of Tanzanian fish consumption; while its climate is ideal for fish farming.
Currently the Association has sixteen (16) members, eleven (11) operating at Lake Victoria in Tanzania and five (5) on the Tanzania coast. Members at Lake Victoria are confined to processing Nile Perch to obtain fillets for export. They are based in Mwanza, Bukoba and Musoma.
